Colour Matching Water Wall
This “Colour Matching Water Wall”, made by our Nursery Manager Barni, encourages children to explore:
Colour recognition and matching
Problem solving and logical thinking
Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
Water play and sensory exploration
Turn taking and cooperative play
Children can pour water into the coloured funnels and follow the tubes to see where the water travels, encouraging curiosity, prediction, and experimentation. The open-ended nature of the activity also supports communication and language development as children discuss colours, directions, and outcomes together. A real positive aspect is that this has been created using recycled or low-cost materials (funnels, tubing, pallets, containers), making it both cost-effective and sustainable. It is a lovely addition to our outdoor provision, especially during the warmer months, while also supporting EYFS learning through play-based experiences.
