Cultural curriculum
This week we started our new cultural curriculum at Mara.
- Pumpkins enjoyed painting flags with sponges while listening to Spanish nursery rhymes.
- Wild Yams had a Spanish lesson with Mariana and learnt some colours.
- Sweet Peas made fans and tried flamenco scarf dancing.
- Elderberries have been busy learning greetings, flamenco steps and playing castanets.
- Runner Beans showcased their amazing Spanish skills by performing the colours song in Spanish!
Each week we’ll be exploring a different country and culture through a range of activities. Staff have been really enthusiastic and full of ideas.
Each room will plan age-appropriate activities linked to different areas of the EYFS, making learning fun and meaningful for everyone.
We’ve also created a display in the main area which will be updated weekly and a busy book to showcase our themes to families and visitors on tours.
